About
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is a relatively old faculty. Several major departments, including Electromechanics, were formed in 1921, the year when the old National School of Civil Engineering (founded in 1864) became the Polytechnic School of Bucharest, by the royal edict signed by King Ferdinand (June 10, 1921).
Today the Faculty of Electrical Engineering offers high education curricula (undergraduate and graduate level) and develop research work in theoretical and applied electrotechnics, mainly in the field of low frequency, low and medium voltage, medium and high current, including: electromagnetic field and electric circuits, electromagnetic energy conversion and sources, metrology, measurement systems, electrical machines and apparatus, power electronics, electric drives and motion control, bioengineering, electro technology, CAD for electrical engineering, management for electrical industry.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is affiliated with the Romanian Consortium of Electrical Engineering Faculties, a national academic network for all seventeen faculties of electric profile in the country.
